About us

Gumnut Labs is a creative studio founded in Denmark by Jakob Welner, whose work combines computer animation, engineering and biomechanics

We are driven by a passion for robot movement and a desire to understand the deeper levels of body language, balance, kinetics and the challenges of bridging the reality-gap. We work from a foundation in biomechanics, neuroscience, computer animation and robotics, to facilitate getting the best out of anything that moves.

We create and tailor movements to specific needs that are suited both for the physical and virtual world, enabling robots and other kinematic setups to express themselves in ways that may otherwise be difficult. Our vision is to become a trusted partner for roboticists, researchers and engineers in the work towards a deeper understanding of movement and how to apply such principles in the real world.
